Album Launch Website for DIVINE’s

“Walking on Water” Without Disrupting Merch & Ticketing

How We Built an Interactive Album Launch Website for DIVINE’s “Walking on Water” — Without Disrupting Merch & Ticketing

Project Overview: To support the launch of the album Walking on Water, DIVINE required a visually immersive website that felt cinematic and interactive, while keeping all commerce and ticketing workflows lightweight.

10 Days

Project Duration

Requirements

1. Album Launch Needed More Than a Static Page

Traditional landing pages felt flat for a major album drop.
The experience needed to feel alive, immersive, and brand-led.

2. Merch & Tickets Were Already on External Platforms

Merch was already live on a separate merch website and tickets were sold via third-party ticketing platforms.

Rebuilding commerce from scratch would:

  • Increase maintenance

  • Create inventory sync issues

  • Add unnecessary friction

Mobile Experience Was Critical

A large percentage of users would land on the site from:

  • Instagram

  • YouTube

  • Mobile ads

Any interaction had to work equally well on touch devices.

the solution

01.

Interactive Album Launch Landing Page (Water Ripple Effect)

Goal: Create an immersive, memorable hero section tied to the album’s theme.

What We Built

  • A visually dominant hero section centered on album artwork

  • A water ripple interaction layer that responds naturally to user input

Interaction Logic

  • Desktop: Ripple activates on hover

  • Mobile: Ripple activates on tap / click

Why This Matters

  • Encourages exploration without forcing action

  • Reinforces album identity visually

  • Keeps navigation accessible (effect never blocks UX)

02.

Merch Page with External Checkout Redirection

Goal: Showcase merch without rebuilding the store.

Implementation

  • Designed a clean merch discovery grid on the album website

  • Each merch card links directly to:

    • The corresponding product page on the existing merch website

Benefits

  • Users browse merch within the album experience

  • Checkout, inventory, and payments stay centralized

  • No duplicate carts or syncing issues

03.

Shows Page with Ticket Purchase Links

Goal: Clearly present upcoming events while keeping ticketing external.

What We Delivered

  • Structured shows listing with:

    • Date

    • City / venue

    • Clear “Buy Now” CTA

  • Each CTA redirects to the correct third-party ticketing platform

Why This Works

  • No risk of ticketing conflicts

  • Users trust familiar ticket platforms

  • The album site remains fast and focused

Does this require a custom backend?

No. The entire experience was built on WordPress CMS as a backend reducing the overall development cost.

Yes. Touch-based interactions were explicitly designed and tested keeping the high traffic in mind.

Absolutely. The structure can be reused with different visuals and data.
